Exhibition Report

Leamington & Warwick
20/21 January 2007

Our first exhibition for 2007 and our third visit to the Leamington & Warwick MRS Exhibition held at Myton School, Myton Road, Warwick. Subtle difference this time as we had the DCC Workshop stand with us for its first trip out. We were located in a classroom adjacent to the Main Entrance with the Historical Model Railway Society (HMRS). Well spread out with a few chairs for visitors to sit and watch and ask questions.

It was good to see a large number of UKTS members in attendance as demonstrators and those who came along to chat and learn more.
Staxtrax, King125, markmiller, 250787, dougkightley, partyspritz, damian2, garthion, steamnut44, easilyconfused, bronwyn, LAD491, johny and bluearrow to name just some of the attendees.
The DCC Workshop stand also attracted a large number of visitors discussing and chatting about various problems, needs, requirements, should I, shouldn't I etc etc.

Microsoft had announced a NEW Microsoft Train Simulator on the Friday evening 6pm UK time, 10am PST (Washington Time) which caused a great buzz of conversation over the whole weekend. It also heralded an upsurgence of chatter on the forums with the usual what, where, when, how etc etc....

This exhibition was well balanced with a good selection of layouts in a variety of scales suitable spread around the school.
It was nice to see some of the new Heljan items appearing on trade stands after the Heljan demo at Warley. ie the Turntable, the Container Terminal and the 'O' gauge class 47's, all stunning models.
A good selection of traders were also in attendance providing RTR, new and secondhand and spare parts, tools, electrical items, books, magazines, DVD's etc etc.

As an experiment the links below are short movies taken at the exhibition. They are fairly large files between 30Mb and 50Mb so you are advised to right click and save as. Then play them from your own PC.

Roarkes Landing 34Mb 45 Secs
DCC Workshop 35Mb 60 secs

Having hijacked Sutton Folly, Bronwyn shunts the yard. 48Mb 80 secs

Our thanks to all the UKTS members who joined us during the exhibition demonstrating and chatting and to the large number of visitors who dropped by for a chat either trainsim or DCC.

We would like to thank the Leamington & Warwick MRS for the invitation to the exhibition and for the refreshments and the warm welcome we received. We hope to see you all again next year.
