Our fourth visit to the "National Festival of Railway Modelling" to be held in the "EXEC Peterborough" on the site
of the East of England Showground. This is a large and impressive exhibition / show building with plenty of
space for an exhibition of this type and plenty of parking for exhibitors AND visiting public.
We arrived at the venue Friday afternoon to set up in the same location as last year on the top wall
to the left as you enter the main hall. Peter38, one of the marshalls, joined us for a chat before returning to his marshalling duties.
After stand setup we adjourned to the hotel for a well earned meal.
A pleasant but cool Saturday morning saw us back at the venue by 8am to complete the setting up.
The exhibition organisers have their own DCC arrangements so our DCC Workshop was left at home.
That doesn't stop visitors asking us about DCC though.
We were joined over the weekend by king125, danny3, DDPOTTER, Nobkins, John Yelland, Alan Howat,
Miketrams, Duncan Chaddock and his son John, peter38 plus others I didn't note down.
There were numerous UKTS members visited the stand over the weekend to chat all things trainsim and railworks.
With the huge space available, the layouts were first class in most gauges and scales. Plenty of traders selling everything from tiny LEDs to DVDs, to Gauge O kit locos and almost everything in between. There was also competitions for adults and children to enjoy themselves. Again, most notable at this show, like the Ally Pally show is the amount of aisle space for visitors. You never get the closed in, cramped, claustrophobic feeling,
even when there are a large number of visitors in the hall.
If you didn't make it to the show, you missed out on an excellent show.
Our thanks to British Railway Modelling Magazine Exhibition organisers (Sam, Ian and Gretta) for the invitation, the refreshments and the location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
