19th / 20th September 2009

Redditch MRC Birmingham Exhibition at the Cocks Woods Moors Leisure Centre marks the start of the Winter season of exhibitions for UKTrainSimLive. Arriving Friday evening to set up we were joined by John and Bronwyn and Alan Howat. Once we had identified the position and size of our stand we set up the Sim as a front and the DCC Workshop as a back. It was evident that we had too much depth and with the agreement of the organisers we shuffled the stand back to give the right dimensions for projection and had about 6 foot at the front to make a small 2 row auditorium. Which was certainly well used over the whole weekend.

Final setup on saturday morning was accomplished and we were up and running. We were joined over the weekend by Alan Howat, Easilyconfused (John) plus daughter (Bronwyn), King125 (Terry) and Queen125 (Patty), RobertM, DDPotter (Daniel) and Staxtrax (Clive). We were also pleased to see Don Hinton (Cannock Chase, Burton Derby and Black Country) who joined us for most of Saturday and enjoyed a good chin wag.

A number of UKTS members visited the stand over the weekend and there was a steady flow of visitors to the show who stopped by for a chat. The DCC Workshop was in full flow over the weekend, answering some of the usual questions and some new ones such as can I use xyz controllers with abc system and if I want sound do I need two decoders? Overall a very interesting weekend.

Our thanks to the Redditch Model Railway Club for the invitation, refreshments and location and for the auditorium at the front. Our thanks to all the UKTS crew that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to the UKTS members who dropped by for a chat and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
