An invitation from the Ilford and West Essex Model Railway Club brought us to St Edwards School
on London Road, Romford on a very pleasant weekend. A change of venue for this club, as previously
they have run the exhibition in the Ilford Town Hall.
Located in a large room adjacent to the public entrance we had plenty of room to spread out
and make everybody comfortable.
We were joined over the weekend by LAD491, joea1 and ca55ie as demonstrators and
a number of operators from other exhibits all keen to have a go. A number of visitors
also had the opportunity to sit and drive on a variety of routes.
As with most exhibitions we attend, the visiting public could not believe that we
were showing Microsoft Train Simulator as it was nothing like they had seen before.
Convinced that we were showing a newer version (MSTS2) or a completely different
simulator. Other visitors had not heard of MSTS. All went away with renewed interest.
A very good exhibition with plenty of variety in layouts and traders. The only drawback
was that the second exhibition hall was a 200 yard walk from the first and the exhibition
manager agreed that some people never ventured that far and therefore missed half the
exhibits.
Our thanks to the UKTS Members who came and joined us to help and to chat, nice to
see you again.
Our thanks to Ilford and West Essex MRC for the invitation and refreshments and a good location.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Who knows we may have new simulators
to demonstrate in full by then.
