Our first visit to the Tring and District MRC Exhibition at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. As this is
a one day exhibition we arrived bright and early on the Saturday morning to a warm welcome from the organisers.
Quickly unloaded and set up on the stage in the main hall. Cab-It now has a two wheel folding truck to move the gear
from the car to the stand and back again.
We were joined during the day by Coxster (Damon) and Damian2 (Mark) plus a number of enthusiastic visitors. I am sure
other UKTS members turned up and did a spell of driving but I didn't make note of them, sorry guys. Our only
misgiving of being on the stage was the very limited access via 1 narrow stairway which excluded any disabled access.
The organisers have said that they will look at alternatives for next years exhibition.
For a one day exhibition this is very large and well supported exhibition. With 23 layouts and 28 traders / demonstrators
it takes some time to get round the 4 halls to see everything. Some very interesting layouts including the 2mm layout
of an airport showing international trains and inter-terminal monorail. The Bash Street kids also made an appearance
on Nether Thorpe in 4mm. (Look carefully and you could find them).
Our thanks to the Tring & District MRC for the invitation, the refreshments and making us welcome. Thanks to
all the UKTS members who joined us to help demonstrate or visited us for a chat. See you all again in 2007.
